Your greatest opportunity for lifelong recovery.
We care about your family and we care about you. Our alcohol and drug rehabilitation services are based on the 12-step philosophy of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. The difference between ours and other programs is the genuine, local people here to help you.
The substance abuse services provided by the Jackie Nitschke Center are focused on healing and hope, with a goal of life-long recovery. Our treatment approach is based on the disease concept. As addiction is an all-encompassing disease, we believe that recovery needs to be the same. Therefore, we address all aspects of a person’s recovery: physical, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual. We use a variety of therapeutic approaches, individualized to suit each client’s experiences and goals. Since no two people are alike, no two treatment experiences are ever alike.
Our location and involvement with the recovery community gives clients the opportunities to become connected to the Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous recovery support groups. This is crucial for lasting recovery. Family involvement and support are also significant components of healthy recovery, so Family Day and a family session are included in treatment (Family Day is optional for Intensive Outpatient clients).
Our medically-monitored Residential treatment services are provided in a home-like environment, where the client resides for 28 days.
The 28 days are structured to provide a range of experiences, including:
• Individual Counseling • Family Counseling • Group Counseling • Involvement in Recovery • Support Groups (AA, NA) Education • Leisure Activities • Physical Exercise (walks, visits to YWCA)
Also included in the Residential stay is:
• All meals • Assessment • Treatment Planning and Goal Setting • Family Day (a day of education and therapy for clients and their family members) • Information and Referral
Residential counselors work with each client to set up a plan for continuing care after the completion of the 28-day program.
Requirements for Admission
• Applicants must be 18 years or older • Applicants must be clean for at least 24 hours • Obtain medical clearance from a medical professional after last use, indicating not going through any major withdrawal symptoms (this may include detox for some individuals) • Be safely withdrawn from all mood-altering medications • Meet criteria for the Residential level of care.

Often, people are reluctant to get help because of the stigma that they perceive is associated with entering a 28 day program or the difficulties of being off of work for that length of time. The Jackie Nitschke Center is pleased to offer an effective treatment program that doesn’t mean giving up your job or disrupting your life. Our Intensive Outpatient program includes 18 group therapy sessions, held in the evenings Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m
The IOP Program includes:
• Assessment • Treatment Planning & Goal Setting • Individual Counseling • Family Counseling • Group Counseling • Involvement in Recovery Support Groups (AA, NA) • Education • Information and Referral
While in IOP, clients must also attend two AA or NA meetings per week.
Our Outpatient/Aftercare program is an ongoing relapse prevention group that is held once a week for 16 weeks for clients who have gone through an IOP program. Outpatient is considered an addition to deeper involvement in a recovery support group. Attendance of recovery support groups are required (AA, NA). Groups are held on Wednesdays from 5:30 - 7 p.m.
